Since I was a kid, I’ve had a very noisy mind.  When I paint, all of that goes away.  When I am out in nature, I am overcome by its beauty and silence.  That awe is what I try to put into my work.  The paintings are sometimes less about the subject and more about what the subject does to my soul.

If it becomes too much about yourself, the work becomes about vanity.
Artists who perform for accolades are surely lost and become addicts for more and more attention.
